THE ENVIRONMENT MUST BE PRESERVED, TO CONTINUE CELEBRATING ITS KINDNESS, BEAUTY AND GENEROSITY. THE BIRD COLLECTION, A CENTRAL THEME TO THESE SCARVES, IS A TRIBUTE TO THE MULTIPLE SPECIES IN EXISTENCE, WHICH, IF NOT PROPERLY CARED WILL CEASE TO EXIST, AND WE WILL ONLY KNOW THEM THROUGH PRINTS AND BOOKS.

AUDUBON SOCIETY
The National Audubon Society protects birds and the places they need, today and tomorrow, throughout the Americas using science, advocacy, education, and on-the-ground conservation.
Protecting waterbird populations has been part of Audubon’s mission even before the official establishment of the National Audubon Society. Outrage over the slaughter of millions of waterbirds, particularly egrets and other waders, for the millinery trade led to the foundation, by Harriet Hemenway and Minna B. Hall, of the Massachusetts Audubon Society in 1896. By 1898, state-level Audubon Societies had been established in Pennsylvania, New York, New Hampshire, Illinois, Maine, Wisconsin, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Connecticut, the District of Columbia, Ohio, Indiana, Tennessee, Minnesota, Texas, and California.

SAN DIEGO NATURAL HISTORY MUSEUM (SDNHM)
Founded as—and still officially named—the San Diego Society of Natural History, the organization traces its roots to an enthusiastic group of amateur naturalists, who formed the San Diego Society of Natural History in 1874. The organization welcomes nearly 400,000 people into the Museum each year, hosts environmental education programs in the community, and is engaged in scientific research throughout Southern California and the Baja California Peninsula.
The world we live in is an amazing place. We want everyone to understand it better, enjoy it more, and love it as much as we do, so we’ll all protect it for the future. Because we believe that nature is the biggest exhibition of all.
